Ajit Kumar remembers Harivansh
Rai Bachchan
|
Renowned
Hindi writer Ajit Kumar remembers the
great poet
Harvansh Rai Bachchan. As one of his dearest disciples,
Ajit Kumar
gives us
some rare glimpses of the
poet's life. He says Bachchan was a strict teacher,
Jawahrlal Nehru's Hindi adviser and of course a great
poet. And very few of us know that Harivansh Rai and
Teji Bachchan were disciplined and organised
parents and their household was a typical Allahabadi Sangam of tradition and modernity, that later
reflected in many of the films and songs of their son
Amitabh Bachchan. NRIfm presents the life
story of Harivansh Rai
Bachchan. To listen

connive to exclude his best friend and colleague
from a lucrative 'eating assignment', but tries to
pass off his wife in male attire as a new acolyte!

literally! Munshi Premchand at his comic best!

atheist, he starts losing sleep over this. As it
happens, his infant son falls sick. After that,
Dinanath himself is taken ill. His uneasy
conscience tells him that this is the price he
must pay for his moral lapse… Listen on, Munshi

Lata Mangeshkar
remembers Bollywood's greatest Hindi poet Pt.
Narendra Sharma |
Hindi poet Pt Narendra Sharma fought for
India's
independence and then went to Mumbai
to write some of the most memorable songs. Not
many of us know that when Lata Mangeshkar
was struggling in her early days, Pt
Narendra Sharma stood behind her like a rock
and the legendary singer always treated him
like her father. Pt Narendra Sharma's
daughter Lavanya Shah was of Lata's age and
they spent a lot of time together. Many
years later Lavanya Shah interviewed Lata on
a US radio station both remembering good old
days. A memorable interview that gives a
rare insight to Lata Mangeshkar's early
life.
